Co-Founder and Chief Play Architect
Andrea is Co-Founder and Chief Play Architect of Wonderhood. She earned her Bachelors’s degree from Yale University and her Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University. Following her MBA, Andrea founded a nonprofit organization, Out2Play, that was dedicated to developing play spaces in New York City public schools. Under Andrea’s direction, Out2Play completed 180 playground projects, raised over $35 million in funding from public and private sources and in just 7 years, fulfilled the organization’s mission of building a playground for every New York City public elementary school that needed one. Out2Play’s work now benefits over 120,000 children each year. As Founder and Executive Director, Andrea oversaw all aspects of the organization’s activities, including fundraising, project management, financial management, board relations and partnership development. She was recognized with numerous awards, including being selected to the Crain’s New York 40 Under 40.
After Out2Play completed its mission, Andrea joined East Harlem Tutorial Program as Managing Director of Development and External Affairs. In this role, she oversaw the organization’s annual fundraising efforts as well as a $45 million capital campaign and all communications and external relations. Andrea’s experience in the world of play and as a mother have led her to focus her efforts and skills on Wonderhood.
